Out of the thirty writers interviewed, White was hired alongside Mark S. White has never written a television script but was sure he could learn when the opportunity was given. White gave Leach some of his work from Chuck E. Leach quickly got back in touch, eager for White to come in for an interview. White sent another letter to Leach to remind her of his availability and one of congratulations. After seeing the ad, White assumed that the project was continuing without him.

White then saw a newspaper article that Barney & The Backyard Gang was to be spun into a television series on PBS. White never heard anything back afterwards.
White became interested in the video series and wrote to Sheryl Leach pitching himself that he would like to work with the crew. Upon asking West what he's been up to since they last saw each other, White learned that West was voicing Barney for the Barney & The Backyard Gang video series. One of the people White worked with during audio sessions was Bob West. The productions he wrote and co-produced would be used for audio production for the animatronic characters in Chuck E. Cheese franchise, headquartered in the Dallas area.
A promo shot of the cast hugging Barney in the second-to-last scene is shown during the " Barney Theme Song" until Tosha joined the cast where it was changed.This episode contains the whole children's cast from season 1, as Tosha is the only exception.When this episode aired, the Barney Fan Club gave members the chance to send in birthday cards for Barney via Fan Mail.This episode is revealed that Barney is now two hundred million-years-old (two dinosaur years).The second time Tina sings the first verse by herself of "I Love You" after Barney Goes To School.The second time Baby Bop magically appears.The second time Barney does not change back into a doll after Waiting for Santa.This episode was released on VHS as Barney's Birthday on September 2, 1992. Instead, Tina says, "Feliz cumpleaños, Barney." and it cuts to the cake scene. Also, the Spanish version excludes Min's Filipino birthday song and Tina's explanation on what "Feliz cumpleaños" means (since this was being dubbed in Spanish to begin with).Although the song, " Hey, Hey, Our Friends Are Here", appeared as an underscore when the balloons dropped, it was not sung in either the Spanish or the Hebrew version of this episode. The song, " Frosting the Cake", was not sung in the Israeli version either, although it appeared as an underscore when the birthday cake that has decorated came to life.And in the end of that version, the frame doesn't freeze. In the Israeli co-production of Barney & Friends, Hachaverim Shel Barney, Baby Bop was seen standing in the classroom corner before she was supposed to magically arrive." She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain".Everyone ends by singing " I Love You", and they continue to celebrate from there. Barney makes a special birthday wish for all his friends to join him at the birthday party, and of course, it comes true. After giving Barney her teddy bear, Kathy learns that presents aren't the most important thing of a birthday it's the thought that counts. Min and Tina also take time to explain how birthdays are respectively celebrated in Mexico and The Philippines, and they sing birthday songs from both places.
Everyone then plans a special birthday party for Barney, with songs, games, decorations, and of course, cake. After singing " There Are Seven Days", the kids find out that it's Barney's birthday, and he's turning two hundred million-years-old, or two dinosaur years.
